President Muhammadu Buhari has unveiled ‘Discover Nigeria,’ a photobook on Nigerian history that spans the years 1960 to the present.

The world’s largest photographic book, dubbed “Discover Nigeria,” was launched on Thursday at the state house banquet centre in Abuja.

Governors, traditional rulers, members of the diplomatic corps, corporate leaders, and creative industry players all attended the event.

Traditional institutions, landscapes, farmlands, magnificent waterfalls, and oceans, among other things, are included in the 392-page book, which was written by Bayo Omoboriowo, Buhari’s official photographer.

Omoboriowo has previously suggested that the 60-square-meter book is vying for the title of world’s largest photobook.

‘‘The previous biggest photobook record was 45 square metres. The ‘Discover Nigeria’ book was printed and mounted as a 60sqm huge frame book-60 pictures, 60 pages, 60 square metres, honouring Nigeria’s 60th birthday,” he added.

The book launch, according to the photographer, was planned as part of Nigeria’s diamond celebration.

Buhari Sallau, the president’s personal assistant for broadcast media, shared photographs from the event on his Instagram feed.

Over 60 young Nigerians were said to have taken part in the construction of the giant frame book mounted at the state house conference centre (formerly banquet hall), the venue of the event.
