After scoring against Barcelona in a LaLiga match on Saturday, Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez placed his palms together in a sign seeking for forgiveness.

Suarez scored his first goal against his previous club since departing in the summer of 2020.

In the first half, the Uruguayan scored a goal to put Atletico ahead 2-0.

Suarez, on the other hand, remained courteous, refusing to rejoice even as his new teammates congratulated him.

Suarez’s appearance against Barcelona on Saturday was his second since manager Ronald Koeman forced him out.

He was denied the chance to play against the Catalans in the opening league match of last season due to a positive Covid-19 test, and he drew a blank in the 0-0 draw in May.

He was on target this time, scooping up a beautiful ball from Thomas Lemar – who had started the scoring at the Wanda Metropolitano – and doubling Atleti’s lead.
