Ansu Fati made a spectacular return from a long injury layoff on Sunday, scoring a goal and giving Barcelona supporters hope for the future, wearing the No. 10 shirt that used to belong to Lionel Messi.
Fati scored in stoppage time to secure a 3-0 Spanish league win over Levante, easing some of the burden on Barcelona after a three-match losing skid. Fati had not played in over ten months due to a knee injury.
When the 18-year-old Fati joined the game in the 81st minute, the audience erupted in applause, and he celebrated lavishly after scoring with a low shot from beyond the area.
It was Fati’s 14th goal in 44 matches with Barcelona, and his first since the “clásico” against Real Madrid at Camp Nou last October. He ran near the stands after the goal to thank his relatives.
