Watford, an English Premier League club, has joined the rest of the globe in celebrating Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day.
This morning, the club wished Nigerians a happy independence on its social media accounts.
“To all of our Nigerian Hornets, Happy Independence Day!” On Twitter and Instagram, the Hornets shared their thoughts.

Watford is one of the few European clubs with strong ties to Nigeria. They presently have four Nigerian players on their payroll: midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo, defender William Troost-Ekong, forward Emmanuel Dennis, and midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru, who is on loan at Reading.
