Following an effort to steal the company’s domain name, Facebook services which includes Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook itself have been shut down.
Since Monday afternoon, users have been unable to access the services after a hacker, who has yet to be discovered, nuked the DNS A; an address file that has an IP address for the domain name as well as AAA records for Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp.
“We’re aware that some individuals are having problems with WhatsApp at the moment,” the company had previously tweeted. We’re attempting to restore normalcy and will provide an update as soon as possible.”

The main domain of Facebook’s domain name: Facebook.com is now available for purchase.
